Greetings Everyone!
This past weekend my dear Uncle Drew passed away. We had a very close relationship. He was a true gentleman, worked hard all his life and well liked in our community. Once again, I was reminded of how short life really is. A lesson I had first learned when my father passed so many, many years ago. It was difficult for me to partake in the events of his final arrangements and decided to just be alone for a time of reflection. And to also stay away from the group gatherings. My uncle was a great community leader and owned a beverage shop in town. He was asked to run for office, but turned down the opportunity. I never had a chance to ask him why.
During this time of reflection, I decided to once again try to contact my local leadership for direction. And today I finally had the opportunity to talk to my Town Councilman Neil Foley. I am grateful for this. He decided to meet with me to discuss my political future, as he suggested I start running for my local school board. You never know. I shall meet with him within the next week, so let's see what his advice is.
In the meantime, I continue with my life coaching training and Ph.D. dissertation research.
As we have passed the one year point of this pandemic, let us still be ever vigilant of wearing our face masks, washing hands and staying away from large gatherings. Keep the strength and pray for one another.
Love & Peace,
Ilona
